Mission Statement
Provide compassionate quality medical care, love, food, and a safe sanctuary for at risk dogs that are considered seniors, hospice, special needs (mental and physical) or have an illness requiring palliative care.
Short Term Mission
- Provide the best for the dogs in our care
- Advocate for senior and special needs dog adoptions and/ or permanent/ foster homes
- Help special needs, sick or senior dogs not to die alone in a shelter environment.
Long Term Mission
- Reduce population of unwanted senior and special needs dogs in animal control and shelters
- Develop a grant program to help pet owners afford vet bills and medicines for older dogs in their care
- Permanent larger facility
Why Compassionate Care?
Roughly twenty five percent of all dogs in animal control shelters are special needs or seniors. Unfortunately the adoption rate for these dogs is very low and the euthanasia rate can be high. CC's was formed to help seniors and special needs dogs find safe sanctuary to live their remaining days.
